Description

PEG-PLGA-SS-DTX (Polyethylene glycol-polylactide-glycolide copolymer-disulfide bond-docetaxel) refers to a copolymer consisting of polyethylene glycol (PEG), poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA), a disulfide (SS) linker, and docetaxel (DTX). Docetaxel is a chemotherapeutic agent commonly used in the treatment of various cancers. It belongs to the taxane class of drugs and works by inhibiting microtubule disassembly, thereby disrupting cell division. PEGylation of the copolymer can improve its pharmacokinetics by increasing circulation time in the bloodstream, reducing renal clearance, and avoiding recognition by the immune system. In addition, the presence of docetaxel suggests that the copolymer is intended for cancer drug delivery. The controlled release of docetaxel from the copolymer may improve its therapeutic index and provide sustained drug exposure to cancer cells. LA/GA molar ratio will be 1:1 with no request.
