Description

PDLLA-mPEG (Poly(D,L-lactide)-PEG-methyl ether) is extensively used in drug delivery systems. The amphiphilic nature of PDLLA-mPEG allows it to self-assemble into micelles or nanoparticles in aqueous environments. These micelles or nanoparticles can encapsulate hydrophobic drugs within their cores, while the PEG chains on the surface provide steric stabilization and stealth properties. This design enables controlled release and enhanced circulation time of drugs, reducing toxicity and improving therapeutic efficacy. PDLLA-mPEG-based drug delivery systems have been explored for the delivery of chemotherapy drugs, anti-inflammatory agents, and other therapeutics.
