Description

PDLLA-PEG-ALK (Poly(D,L-lactide)-b-poly(ethylene glycol)-alkyne) refers to a copolymer consisting of three components: poly(D,L-lactide) (PDLLA), poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG), and an alkyne functional group (ALK) attached to the polymer chain. PDLLA is a biodegradable and biocompatible polymer derived from lactic acid. It is commonly used in medical implants, drug delivery systems, and tissue engineering due to its controlled degradation profile and compatibility with biological systems. The alkyne functional group (-C≡C) provides a site for further functionalization through click chemistry reactions, such as copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC). This enables the attachment of various molecules or biomolecules to the copolymer, allowing for controlled modification and conjugation for specific applications.
