PDLLA-PEG-MAL (Poly(D,L-lactide)-b-Poly(ethylene glycol)-Maleimide) can be utilized for the development of targeted imaging probes for diagnostic imaging modalities, such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), positron emission tomography (PET), or fluorescence imaging. By conjugating imaging agents, such as contrast agents or fluorophores, to the polymer backbone via maleimide chemistry, it enables the fabrication of targeted imaging probes that selectively accumulate in diseased tissues or specific cellular targets, allowing for non-invasive detection and visualization of pathological processes.
