4′,5′-bis(4-formylphenyl)-3′,6′-dimethyl-[1,1′:2′,1”-terphenyl]-4,4”-dicarbaldehyde (TFDB, TPB-Me, 1,2,4,5-tetrakis(4-formylphenyl)-3,6-dimethylbenzene) consists of a terphenyl core, which is formed by three connected phenyl rings. Two formyl (-CHO) groups are attached to each of the 4′ and 5′ positions of the terphenyl core. It exhibits catalytic properties useful in organic synthesis reactions.
