Description

Concanavalin A, Rhodamine Labeled refers to Concanavalin A (Con A) lectin molecules that have been conjugated with Rhodamine fluorescent dye molecules. Con A is a lectin protein derived from the jackbean (Canavalia ensiformis) seeds, which binds specifically to certain sugar residues, such as α-D-mannose and α-D-glucose. Rhodamine-labeled Con A can be used for fluorescence microscopy imaging of cells to visualize glycoprotein or glycolipid distribution on cell surfaces. By incubating cells with Rhodamine-labeled Con A and observing the fluorescent signal using fluorescence microscopy, researchers can study the spatial distribution and localization of glycosylated structures within cells.
