PDLLA-PEG-PDLLA (Poly(D,L-lactide)-block-poly(ethylene glycol)-block-poly(D,L-lactide)) can be functionalized with imaging probes or contrast agents for diagnostic imaging applications. By conjugating imaging agents, such as fluorophores, magnetic nanoparticles, or radioactive isotopes, to the PLA or PEG segments, the copolymers can serve as carriers for targeted imaging of specific tissues or organs. These imaging agents can be used for various imaging modalities, including fluorescence imaging, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and positron emission tomography (PET), enabling non-invasive visualization and characterization of diseased tissues.
