Description

PDLLA-PEG-PDLLA (Poly(D,L-lactide)-block-poly(ethylene glycol)-block-poly(D,L-lactide)) can be employed as carriers for nucleic acid delivery in gene therapy applications. By complexing with DNA or RNA molecules, the copolymers can protect the genetic material from degradation, facilitate cellular uptake, and promote intracellular release. The biodegradable PLA segments enable controlled release of the nucleic acids, while the PEG segments provide stealth properties to avoid clearance by the immune system. This application holds promise for the treatment of genetic disorders, cancer, and other diseases by modulating gene expression or gene editing.
