Description

BCN is a strained cyclic alkene used in bioorthogonal chemistry, particularly in click chemistry reactions such as the tetrazine ligation. This reaction is highly selective and can occur rapidly under mild conditions, making BCN a valuable tool for bioconjugation and labeling studies. PFP is a reactive group containing a perfluorophenyl azide moiety. Perfluorophenyl azides are commonly used in photoaffinity labeling and bioorthogonal chemistry applications. Upon irradiation with UV light, the azide group can undergo a photochemical reaction, forming a highly reactive nitrene intermediate, which can covalently modify nearby biomolecules.
