Description

DBCO-PEG1-acid is useful in chemical biology and bioconjugation, enabling researchers to attach biomolecules to various substrates or to each other with high specificity and efficiency, primarily through the strain-promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition reaction. Its PEGylation can also confer beneficial properties for drug delivery. DBCO reacts specifically and efficiently with azide groups (-N₃) under physiological conditions without the need for copper catalysts, which can be toxic to cells. The acid group can be used for further conjugation or modification through traditional organic chemistry reactions.
