Description

3,4-Dibromo-Mal-PEG4-amide-DBCO can be used for site-specific labeling of biomolecules (proteins, peptides, antibodies, etc.) that have been modified with azide-functionalized compounds. This bioconjugation method is particularly useful in chemical biology and biotechnology for studying protein interactions, cellular imaging, and drug delivery. Maleimides are widely used in bioconjugation due to their ability to react selectively with thiols (sulfhydryl groups) under mild conditions to form stable thioether bonds. DBCO reacts specifically with azide groups (via copper-free click chemistry) to form triazole linkages, facilitating efficient and bioorthogonal conjugation reactions.
