PEVImBr-b-PEVImBr is a block copolymer consisting of two segments of poly(ethylenimine) bromide (PEVImBr) linked together. The block copolymer structure enables the design of materials with unique properties by combining different functionalities from each block. For example, one block might provide solubility or processability, while the other imparts reactivity or specific interactions. In addition, the basic nitrogen atoms in the ethylenimine segments make PEVImBr-b-PEVImBr suitable for gene delivery applications.
