Description

2′,3′-didehydro-2′,3′-dideoxy-4′-spirothymidine is a synthetic nucleoside analog. It is derived from thymidine and belongs to a class of compounds known as spiro nucleosides, characterized by the presence of a spiro linkage (a carbon atom shared by two rings). As a dideoxynucleoside analog, 2′,3′-didehydro-2′,3′-dideoxy-4′-spirothymidine shows potential in inhibiting the reverse transcriptase enzyme in HIV.
