N3-Crown refers to a crown ether derivative where the crown ether structure is modified with an azide group (-N3). Crown ethers are cyclic compounds that can coordinate metal ions due to their ring structure and the electron-donating properties of the oxygen atoms in the ring. The combination of crown ether and azide functionalities can be used in the development of sensors for detecting metal ions or other substances. N3-Crown can also be used to synthesize polymeric materials where the crown ether units provide metal ion coordination sites, and the azide groups enable further functionalization or cross-linking.
