N3@γ-Fe2O3 refers to a composite material where an azide functional group is incorporated into a γ-Fe2O3 (gamma-Fe2O3) matrix. The magnetic properties of γ-Fe2O3 can be used to guide the N₃@γ-Fe₂O₃ composite to specific locations in the body using an external magnetic field. The azide group allows for the attachment of therapeutic agents or targeting ligands. Other than that, γ-Fe2O3 is often used as a contrast agent in MRI. The addition of the azide group can enable the attachment of imaging probes or contrast agents, enhancing the imaging capabilities.
