Description

UDP-GalNAz disodium (UDP-N-azidoacetylgalactosamine disodium) is a modified nucleotide sugar with a modified form of N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) where the acetyl group is replaced by an azide group (-N3). UDP-GalNAz is used to incorporate azide groups into glycoproteins and glycolipids in cells. This enables labeling of glycans with fluorescent tags or other probes via click chemistry, facilitating their detection and analysis. In addition, UDP-GalNAz helps in the study of glycan structures by allowing researchers to introduce azide groups into specific glycans, facilitating detailed profiling and mapping of glycosylation patterns.
