Description

TCO-BP, 2 (Bisphosphonate-modified trans-cyclooctene) refers to a chemical compound where trans-cyclooctene (TCO) is conjugated to a bisphosphonate (BP) group. Bisphosphonates are well-known for their high affinity to hydroxyapatite, the primary mineral found in bones. They are often used in treatments for osteoporosis and other bone disorders due to their ability to inhibit bone resorption. CO-BP is highly effective for targeting bones due to the bisphosphonate’s affinity for hydroxyapatite. When conjugated with tetrazine-labeled imaging agents (e.g., fluorescent dyes, PET tracers), it allows for precise imaging of bone structures or lesions. TCO-BP can also be used in the detection of bone diseases such as osteoporosis or bone metastasis by delivering imaging probes specifically to affected bone areas. The TCO-tetrazine reaction ensures selective labeling without interfering with surrounding tissues.
