Description

Tetrazine-functionalized dextran is a biopolymer that combines the water-soluble dextran (a polysaccharide made up of glucose units) with a tetrazine functional group, which enables rapid bioorthogonal reactions with complementary molecules, such as trans-cyclooctene (TCO)-labeled compounds. Tetrazine-functionalized dextran can be used for rapid and specific conjugation with TCO-functionalized molecules. This allows researchers to selectively label or modify biomolecules, nanoparticles, or cells in a bioorthogonal manner, meaning these reactions can occur within living organisms without interfering with natural biochemical processes.
