Description

C(Bz) Polystyrene Resin is a polystyrene-based resin functionalized with benzyloxycarbonyl (C(Bz)) protecting groups. The C(Bz) polystyrene resin is used in SPPS for the stepwise assembly of peptides. The benzyloxycarbonyl group protects the amine group of the amino acid while the peptide chain is being elongated. After coupling each amino acid, the C(Bz) group can be selectively removed, allowing further coupling to occur without unwanted side reactions. Polystyrene resin is an essential material for a wide range of uses in research, diagnostics, medical devices, and multiple industial applications from packaging to construction.
