Fmoc-Cys(StBu)-Chlorotrityl PEG-Polystyrene Resin is an ideal choice for the synthesis of cysteine-containing peptides where the cysteine thiol group needs to be protected from unwanted reactions or oxidation during synthesis. The sec-butyl (StBu) group is a sterically bulky protecting group that shields the cysteine thiol group from unwanted reactions and oxidation during peptide synthesis. It provides enhanced protection compared to smaller groups like Ac (acetyl) or Cbz. The chlorotrityl resin offers high reactivity for efficient coupling of the first amino acid (Fmoc-Cys(StBu)) to the resin, resulting in high yield and purity for each peptide elongation cycle.
