H-Tyr(t-Bu)-2-CT Polystyrene Resin is a preloaded solid-phase resin designed for peptide synthesis involving tyrosine residues. It features a tert-butyl (t-Bu) protecting group on the phenolic side chain of tyrosine, safeguarding it during synthesis, and a 2-chlorotrityl (2-CT) linker, which allows mild acid cleavage to yield peptides with or without side-chain protection. Tyrosine is an amino acid with a phenolic side chain (-OH group). This makes it reactive and prone to side reactions, such as esterification or oxidation, during synthesis.
