Description

Clodronate Liposomes, Lyophilized Powder are lipid-based vesicles designed to deliver clodronate (also known as clodronic acid), a bisphosphonate drug, specifically to macrophages and other phagocytic cells. Clodronate is a potent inhibitor of osteoclast activity, often used in the treatment of bone diseases like osteoporosis, metastatic bone cancer, and Paget’s disease, as well as for reducing inflammation in certain autoimmune conditions. However, its delivery is challenging due to its poor bioavailability and systemic toxicity when administered orally or intravenously.
