Description

Surface Reactive Doxorubicin Liposomes-NHS (PEGylated) (Post-insertion), Lyophilized Powder combines PEGylation, surface reactivity, and liposomal encapsulation which provide multiple advantages, including reduced toxicity, increased drug circulation time, enhanced targeting, and the ability to customize the liposomal surface for specific therapeutic needs. The PEGylated liposomes can circulate longer in the bloodstream and preferentially accumulate in tumors due to the EPR effect. The NHS-modified liposomes offer the possibility of attaching specific targeting ligands (such as antibodies, peptides, or small molecules) to the liposome surface. These ligands can bind to receptors that are overexpressed on cancer cells (e.g., HER2 in breast cancer, EGFR in lung cancer, PSMA in prostate cancer), providing a mechanism for selective drug delivery. The liposomal encapsulation of doxorubicin reduces its interaction with healthy tissues, significantly lowering the risk of dose-limiting side effects like cardiotoxicity and nephrotoxicity.
