Description

DOTAP-based Fluoroliposome-DiI, Lyophilized Powder is utilized for studying a wide range of biological and biomedical processes, including gene delivery, drug delivery, liposome-cell interactions, and membrane dynamics. The positive charge on DOTAP liposomes facilitates interactions with negatively charged molecules like cell membranes, nucleic acids, and proteins, promoting efficient endocytosis, liposome-cell fusion, and cargo delivery. DiI is a lipophilic fluorescent probe that emits in the red region, with an excitation maximum around 549 nm and emission maximum around 565 nm. This makes it highly suitable for fluorescence imaging, especially for long-term tracking of liposomes in vivo, as it avoids interference from the typical autofluorescence of biological tissues.
