Description

DOTAP-based Fluoroliposome-NBD lipid (headgroup)-Azide, Lyophilized Powder combines the cationic lipid DOTAP with a fluorescently labeled lipid (NBD lipid), where the fluorescent group is attached to the headgroup of the lipid. The NBD (7-nitrobenz-2-oxa-1,3-diazole) dye is conjugated to the headgroup of the lipid, instead of the fatty acid tail. This design offers unique advantages, including altering the fluidity and packing of the lipid bilayer and providing distinct fluorescence properties for tracking liposomal behavior. The azide functionality on the lipid headgroup allows for click chemistry reactions with alkyne-modified molecules, enabling the conjugation of targeting ligands, drugs, proteins, or other functional molecules onto the liposome surface with high specificity and efficiency, without interfering with the biological system.
