PS-based Fluoroliposome-Cyanine 5 lipid-DBCO, Lyophilized Powder offers a wide array of applications in biomedical research, diagnostics, and therapeutics due to its multifunctional capabilities. Cy5’s emission in the near-infrared (NIR) range (approximately 650–670 nm) is particularly valuable for in vivo imaging. NIR fluorescence allows for deep tissue penetration with reduced scattering and minimal background interference, making it highly effective for live-animal imaging. The inclusion of the DBCO functional group enables these liposomes to engage in highly specific bioorthogonal reactions with azide-functionalized molecules. This click chemistry allows researchers to attach targeting ligands, such as antibodies, peptides, or small molecules, to the liposome surface.
