It typically forms ordered bilayers with limited permeability, providing a stable environment for encapsulated substances. 20:4 (Arachidonoyl) is polyunsaturated, specifically containing four double bonds (omega-6 fatty acid). The presence of these double bonds introduces kinks in the lipid tails, which increases the fluidity and flexibility of the lipid bilayer. Arachidonic acid is a key component in cell membranes and plays a role in signaling processes.
