Description

Polystyrene A HMBA (Aminoethyl Polystyrene functionalized with a 4-(hydroxymethyl)benzoic acid linker) is useful in heterocyclic chemistry and click chemistry. The aminoethyl group can be used to anchor small molecules or even heterocyclic compounds. Its versatility allows it to serve as a solid-phase support for diverse chemical reactions, such as the formation of Schiff bases, amine condensation reactions, and click chemistry-based functionalization (e.g., copper(I)-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition). The HMBA linker can be functionalized further or employed in orthogonal cleavage reactions during complex drug discovery and development, where small molecules are synthesized in a modular fashion and linked to various biomolecules or targeting moieties for drug delivery or targeted therapies.
