Fmoc-Trp(Boc) Low Crosslinked Polystyrene-PEG S TRT Resin (Fmoc-Trp(Boc) Low Crosslinked Polystyrene-PEG S Trityl Resin) is a valuable asset in pharmaceutical research, biochemical studies, and the development of bioactive peptides and therapeutic compounds. The tryptophan residue is preloaded onto the resin with Fmoc protection at the α-amino group. This protecting group can be selectively removed using a base, such as piperidine in DMF, without affecting the side chain Boc protection. The Boc group protects the indole side chain from undesirable side reactions, such as oxidation, which tryptophan is particularly prone to in the presence of strong bases or electrophiles.
