Description

[1,​1′-​Binaphthalene]​-​4,​4′-​diamine, 3,​3′-​dimethyl- (3,3-Dimethyl-[1,1′-binaphthalene]-4,4(3H)-diamine / DMN) consists of a binaphthalene core with diamine groups attached at the 4th and 4′ carbon positions of each naphthalene ring, and methyl groups attached at the 3rd and 3′ carbon positions of each naphthalene ring. Binaphthalene derivatives are used as chiral ligands in asymmetric synthesis reactions to catalyze enantioselective transformations. They can facilitate the synthesis of optically pure compounds, which is important in the pharmaceutical and fine chemical industries.
