Description

1,6-diazidohexane is an organic compound featuring two azide groups (-N3) attached at the 1st and 6th carbon positions of a hexane backbone. 1,6-Diazidohexane can be used in copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) reactions. This makes it useful in bioconjugation applications where alkyne-containing molecules or surfaces are linked to the diazide groups. Moreover, the two reactive azide groups on 1,6-diazidohexane make it useful as a crosslinker in polymer chemistry. When combined with complementary alkyne-functionalized compounds, it can form stable triazole linkages, creating crosslinked networks for materials like hydrogels or elastomers.
