Description

2-Amino-1,3-bis(t-butoxycarbonylethoxy)propane is a derivative of propane with two t-butoxycarbonyl groups attached to the central carbon, an amino group attached to the second carbon, and ethoxy groups attached to each t-butoxycarbonyl group. The t-Boc group is commonly used as a protecting group for the amino group (-NH2) in peptide synthesis. It can be selectively removed under mild acidic conditions, allowing for controlled synthesis of peptides. Diaminoalkanes can be used for surface modification of materials, such as nanoparticles or surfaces of medical devices, to introduce specific functionalities.
