Description

4,4′-(1,3,4-oxadiazole-2,5-diyl)dianiline consists of two aniline (phenylamine) groups connected by a 1,3,4-oxadiazole linker. An oxadiazole is a five-membered heterocyclic ring containing two nitrogen and one oxygen atom. The numbering in the name “1,3,4-oxadiazole-2,5-diyl” indicates the positions of the nitrogen and oxygen atoms in the ring. Compounds containing the 1,3,4-oxadiazole moiety are known for their excellent electron-transporting properties. By incorporating 4,4′-(1,3,4-oxadiazole-2,5-diyl)dianiline into conjugated polymer backbones, it can serve as a building block for organic semiconductors used in organic field-effect transistors (OFETs), organic photovoltaics (OPVs), and organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). The electron-deficient nature of the oxadiazole ring enhances charge mobility and improves device performance.
