Description

Azide-PEG-Azide (N3-PEG-N3) is a bifunctional compound consisting of two azide groups connected by a polyethylene glycol (PEG) spacer. It is extensively used in click chemistry for bioconjugation purposes. The two azide groups can react with terminal alkynes via the copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC), forming stable triazole linkages. This reaction is highly efficient, selective, and compatible with various conditions, including aqueous environments. This makes it ideal for attaching biomolecules, such as proteins, peptides, nucleic acids, or other functional groups, to surfaces or other molecules.
