Description

Biotin-11-dUTP is used for enzymatic labeling of DNA during PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) or other nucleic acid amplification techniques. DNA polymerases can incorporate Biotin-11-dUTP into newly synthesized DNA strands in place of dTTP (deoxythymidine triphosphate), resulting in biotinylated DNA. In DNA microarray technology, Biotin-11-dUTP can be used to label cDNA or RNA during reverse transcription for subsequent hybridization to microarray slides. Biotinylated probes enable the detection and quantification of gene expression levels or SNP (Single Nucleotide Polymorphism) analysis.
