Description

Biotin-NHS (N-Succinimido-(+)-Biotin, Biotin N-hydroxysuccinimide Ester, 2,5-Dioxopyrrolidin-1-yl 5-((3aS,4S,6aR)-2-oxohexahydro-1H-thieno[3,4-d]imidazol-4-yl)pentanoate) reacts selectively with primary amines (-NH2) under mild conditions (typically pH 7-9), forming stable amide bonds. This specificity allows for site-specific biotinylation of biomolecules. In addition, it is stable under physiological conditions, ensuring reliable performance in various biological applications. Biotin-NHS-labeled biomolecules are used in various detection assays such as ELISA, Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, or fluorescence microscopy. Streptavidin-conjugated probes detect biotinylated targets with high sensitivity.
