Description

Biotin-PEG-NHS (Bio-PEG-NHS) is used to modify proteins or peptides by attaching biotin to primary amines on the molecules. This process, known as biotinylation, allows for subsequent detection, purification, or immobilization of biotinylated proteins using avidin or streptavidin affinity chromatography. NHS is a reactive ester that is often used in bioconjugation chemistry to activate carboxyl groups for amine coupling reactions. NHS esters react specifically with primary amines (e.g., lysine residues on proteins) to form stable amide bonds.
