Description

Biotin-PEG4-amide-Alkyne is frequently used to biotinylate proteins, peptides, nucleic acids, and other biomolecules. Biotin, a vitamin, binds strongly to avidin and streptavidin, enabling the tagged biomolecules to be easily purified, immobilized, or detected in various assays. Additionally, the alkyne group in biotin-PEG4-alkyne facilitates copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC), also known as click chemistry. This reaction is highly selective and efficient, allowing for the conjugation of biotin to azide-containing molecules under mild conditions. Click chemistry is widely used in the construction of biomolecule conjugates, labeling studies, and drug delivery systems.
