Description

Cationic Liposome containing DOTMA-Rhod-PE is investigated for its ability to deliver therapeutic agents across the blood-brain barrier (BBB). The fluorescence of Rhod-PE facilitates the visualization of liposome distribution in the brain, essential for developing therapies for neurological diseases like Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and multiple sclerosis. Additionally, cationic liposomes containing DOTMA can be used to deliver antibacterial agents to infected tissues. The positively charged liposomes interact effectively with bacterial membranes, facilitating drug delivery and bacterial targeting. These liposomes can also be used for antiviral drug delivery, where they encapsulate antiviral agents and improve their efficacy against viral infections. The fluorescent Rhod-PE enables tracking of liposome distribution in infected cells or tissues.
