Description

CBZ-aminooxy-PEG8-t-butyl ester is useful for site-specific labeling of biomolecules, such as proteins, peptides, and nucleic acids. The aminooxy functional group selectively reacts with carbonyl groups, such as aldehydes and ketones, to form stable oxime linkages. In addition, this compound can be employed to design drug delivery systems with improved efficacy and reduced side effects. PEGylation, facilitated by the PEG8 moiety in CBZ-aminooxy-PEG8-t-butyl ester, can enhance the pharmacokinetic properties of drugs. PEGylation improves solubility, stability, and circulation time of drugs, leading to prolonged therapeutic effects and reduced immunogenicity. The t-butyl ester group can serve as a temporary protecting group for carboxylic acids, allowing controlled conjugation of drugs or targeting ligands to PEG chains.
