Description

Chitosan, Cy5.5 Labeled can be loaded with therapeutic agents and used for targeted drug delivery. The fluorescence of Cy5.5 allows for real-time monitoring of the particles’ biodistribution and accumulation at the target site. Chitosan is a biocompatible and biodegradable polysaccharide derived from the deacetylation of chitin, which is commonly found in the exoskeletons of crustaceans such as shrimp and crabs. Cy5.5 is a fluorescent dye belonging to the cyanine dye family. It emits near-infrared light when excited by an appropriate light source, making it suitable for in vivo imaging and fluorescence-based applications.
