Description

Concanavalin A, Cy3 Labeled can be employed for labeling and imaging specific cell surface glycoproteins or glycolipids in cell biology studies. The fluorescence emitted by Cy3 enables the visualization of Con A binding to carbohydrate moieties on the surface of living cells. Con A is a lectin protein derived from the seeds of the jack-bean plant (Canavalia ensiformis). It specifically binds to certain sugar residues, particularly α-D-mannopyranosyl and α-D-glucopyranosyl moieties. Con A is widely used in various biochemical and biological applications, including carbohydrate analysis, cell biology, and immunology.
