COOH-PLGA-PEG-MAL (Maleimide-Poly(ethylene glycol)-Poly(lactide-co-glycolide)-COOH) refers to a copolymer structure that includes a carboxyl (COOH) group, poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA), polyethylene glycol (PEG), and a maleimide (MAL) functional group. The carboxyl group is a functional group composed of a carbonyl group (C=O) and a hydroxyl group (-OH) on the same carbon atom. PLGA is a biodegradable copolymer composed of lactic acid and glycolic acid units. The maleimide functional group is an alkene group with a carbonyl group adjacent to the double bond.
