Cy3 is a well-established green fluorescent dye that emits bright green fluorescence when excited by an appropriate wavelength of light. This fluorescence can be detected and used for imaging, tracking, and detection purposes. Gold nanoparticles can enhance the fluorescence of nearby fluorophores, including Cy3, through a phenomenon known as “plasmon-enhanced fluorescence.” This property can significantly increase the brightness and sensitivity of fluorescence-based assays and imaging.
