Description

DOTAP-based Fluoroliposome-Azide, Lyophilized Powder is widely used in gene delivery applications. The cationic nature of DOTAP allows these liposomes to bind to negatively charged DNA, facilitating its encapsulation and delivery into target cells. The incorporation of the azide group enhances its ability to undergo bioorthogonal reactions, which is useful for targeted gene delivery and in vivo monitoring. By attaching targeting ligands (e.g., antibodies or peptides) with an alkyne group to the surface of the liposomes, they can be directed to specific cell types or tissues. The fluorescence allows for tracking the delivery process and determining the efficiency of transfection.
