Description

DOTAP-based Fluoroliposome-DiA, Lyophilized Powder is widely used for gene delivery and nucleic acid transfection, as its cationic charge facilitates the encapsulation of negatively charged nucleic acids (e.g., plasmid DNA, siRNA). The co-encapsulation of DiA allows for the visualization of liposome-cell interactions, enabling researchers to monitor the efficiency and kinetics of gene transfer in real-time. Beyond, DiA-labeled DOTAP liposomes can be used to study endocytosis and intracellular trafficking pathways. Fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry can be employed to track the fate of the liposomes after internalization, including their distribution within different cellular compartments.
