Electrospun Polycaprolactone Fiber Mats consist of ultrafine fibers with diameters ranging from nanometers to micrometers, which are deposited randomly or aligned on a collector. Electrospun PCL fiber mats typically exhibit a wide range of fiber diameters, from tens of nanometers to several micrometers. The fiber diameter can be controlled by adjusting parameters such as polymer concentration, solution viscosity, flow rate, and applied voltage. Electrospun PCL fiber mats are widely used as scaffolds for tissue engineering applications, including skin, bone, cartilage, nerve, and vascular tissue regeneration. The biomimetic structure of PCL fiber mats supports cell adhesion, proliferation, and differentiation, mimicking the extracellular matrix of native tissues. In addition, they can serve as barrier membranes for guided tissue regeneration (GTR) and guided bone regeneration (GBR) in dental and periodontal applications. The porous structure of PCL fiber mats prevents the ingrowth of undesirable cells while allowing for the infiltration of regenerative cells and tissues.
