Description

Fmoc-Arg(Mtr)-Wang resin allows for efficient coupling and deprotection steps, making it a popular choice in peptide chemistry. Wang resin is a type of polyethylene glycol (PEG)-based resin that contains a carboxylic acid functionality. This allows for the covalent attachment of the first amino acid during the synthesis process. The resin’s structure is designed to provide a stable backbone while facilitating easy cleavage of the synthesized peptide at the end of the synthesis. Arginine (Arg) is an amino acid that plays a critical role in various biological processes. The Pmc (2,2,5,7,8-pentamethylchroman-6-sulfonyl) group is a protecting group for the guanidinium side chain of arginine, providing stability during the synthesis and preventing unwanted reactions. The Pmc group can be removed under mild acidic conditions, allowing for the final introduction of the active side chain functionality.
