Description

Fmoc-Cys(Acm)-Rink Amide PEG-Polystyrene Resin utilizes a Rink amide linker to provide a C-terminal amide upon peptide cleavage and is based on a PEG-polystyrene matrix for improved coupling efficiency. The Rink amide linker attaches the first amino acid to the solid support. After peptide synthesis, cleavage from the resin results in a C-terminal amide group, enhancing peptide stability and making the peptide less susceptible to degradation by enzymes such as carboxypeptidases. Acm protection allows for more efficient peptide synthesis with cysteine residues, as the thiol group remains protected throughout the synthesis process, preventing unwanted side reactions. The Fmoc group is used for the N-terminal protection of the amino acid. It is removed under basic conditions (e.g., with piperidine) to facilitate stepwise peptide elongation during synthesis.
