Description

Fmoc-Glu(tBu)-Wang PEG-Polystyrene Resin is used in the synthesis of peptides where glutamic acid is incorporated into the peptide sequence. The Fmoc protection strategy allows stepwise peptide elongation, and the tBu group on the glutamic acid’s side chain prevents undesired reactions with reagents during synthesis. Once the peptide is fully synthesized, the peptide can be cleaved from the resin using strong acids (such as trifluoroacetic acid, TFA), which also removes the Fmoc group from the N-terminus and the tBu ester from the glutamic acid side chain. Polystyrene resin is an essential material for a wide range of uses in research, diagnostics, medical devices, and multiple industial applications from packaging to construction.
